Attending Paint and Pixel Festival? Get a Free Sketch Card!!!

Saturday October 20th you can find Michael Valade and myself Marshall 'Calmplex' Couture at the Paint and Pixel Festival  at the Northampton Center for the Arts in Massachusetts. It's going to be a Awesome show, and as a special treat for con attendees, We'll be doing a number of absolutely FREE SKETCH CARDS!

If you are attending the Paint and Pixel Festival and would like a FREE SKETCH Card, leave the following information in the contact form below:
  • Your name
  • Sketch character request (any character you want)
  • Who you want a sketch from Michael Valade or Marshall Couture
We will be drawing FREE SKETCH CARDS for a limited number of comic fans who request them, so act fast. First come, first serve!

All you'll have to do to get your card is stop by our table at some point during the show, say hello, and pick up your FREE SKETCH CARD. Can't wait to see you?

"The Occultist" by Jamie Gambell (sketch card commission)

Did this Commission for Jamie Gambell of his character "The Occultist" last night while watching netflix with my wife. I actually penciled in this drawing like three times before landing on this shot. The other versions tended to be closer to a more realistic comic book style hero but I'm trying to stick to this underground comic/cartoony style ive been doing lately. 

The idea I think with these commission's is to re interpret the characters into your own style. If someone is purchasing from me Im assuming that's what they're looking for.

This character has not yet graced an actual comic book but Jamie has plans to introduce him in one of his titles in the not too distant future! He definitely has an interesting story and should prove to mystify! If you want to read a character bio you can check it out at this link.

Drawing in the Car

Playin around with these copics again. Definately getting a feel for them. I'm thinking that i may possibly use the grey copics for my mini comic i havent decided yet. So yea this weekend we we're on a couple decent size road trips with our friend Jay and even though its tough to draw in a car i figured id try. This definately came out looser and rougher than it would if i wasn't in the car but it's cool. It's an image ive had in my head for awhile. Always trying to mix the Music with the Art ;)
